Frequently Asked Questions

Why Don't You Carry Shark Vacuums?

We prioritize the longevity and sustainability of our products by exclusively offering vacuums designed for repairability. Currently, we do not stock Shark products due to their lack of available replacement parts, which unfortunately contributes to increased waste and inconvenience in the event of malfunctions. We are committed to providing cost-effective solutions by selecting brands that support part replacements, preventing the need for complete vacuum replacement over minor damages.

What Is Soft Carpet?

Ultra soft carpeting has become very popular over the past 10 years, but it comes with one huge problem. Your current vacuum cleaner might not be able to clean it.

This new fiber is soft and it feels great on your feet, but this also makes it more challenging to clean. For a vacuum cleaner to glide easily on a carpet, air must flow into the nozzle and through the machine. Without air flow and the vacuum seals itself to the carpet and is hard to push and pull. This can cause damage to your carpet and your vacuum as well as makes cleaning much more challenging than it should be. The carpet industry’s solution was to recommend less powerful vacuums.  The good thing is they pushed easy.  The bad thing is they don’t clean properly. Companies like SEBO and Riccar have created vacuums, that not only push easy but will clean and not damage your carpeting. A few models we carry that work on this carpet are the SEBO Dart, SEBO Canisters, and Riccar R25 Series Vacuums.

With so many styles of carpet and padding we highly recommend bringing in a sample of carpet to your local vacuum store and speak to a cleaning professional. No one vacuum is perfect for every home and you want to make sure the vacuum you choose will clean all the other surfaces in your house as well.

Why Don't You Recommend Stick Vacuums For Full Home Cleaning?

While stick vacuums may be light and convenient to use, most of them have very small motors and are just meant for quick pickups. We recommend using uprights or canisters for full home cleaning. Uprights and canisters are also much more durable and last longer than most stick vacuums.

Disposable vs. Repairable Vacuums

The U.S. retail vacuum cleaner market exceeds $4 billion per year, but 44% of vacuum owners have purchased a new machine in just the past two years. Bagged vs. Bagless Vacuums

Top-fill, three and four-layer bags are an integral part of SEBO’s filtration system because they hold virtually all dirt captured by the vacuum, which improves the effectiveness and useful life of the microfilters. They also ensure continuously strong suction because dirt enters from the top, deposits at the bottom, accumulates..
